My Experience – Making My First Placement at Tiro

I joined Tiro in July 2025 as a Talent Scout. From the very beginning, the team was welcoming, vibrant and supportive. Tiro’s deep expertise in recruitment made it the ideal environment to learn and grow. Coming from a predominantly in-house recruitment background, I’ve learned a huge amount about the art and importance of headhunting.

Training That Actually Works

At Tiro, I was immersed in the job from day one. Being “thrown in at the deep end” was incredibly rewarding as it challenged me to quickly build confidence, develop practical skills, and understand the full scope of my role within just three months—a rare experience.

Tiro’s director Nichola guided me through the end-to-end recruitment process and taught me what it means to do things properly. Tiro’s talented trainer Phil, shared his deep technical engineering knowledge, giving me insight into a world I previously knew nothing about.

I have gained a real understanding of what ethical recruitment looks like, valuing confidentiality, integrity and treating every candidate with respect.

First Win: Helping a Graduate Secure Their First Role

By mid-September, I had made my first successful placement. It was a Process Technologist role for a global industrial manufacturer, a valued Tiro client we have proudly supported for over two years.

This was my first placement, and I had the opportunity to help someone secure the first role of their career. Being part of that journey and helping them take their first step into their career made it more meaningful.

Throughout the process, I saw Tiro’s “personal touch – no one size fits all” approach in action:
