Additive Manufacturing Engineer (Metal) – 3D Printing

New contract available for an Additive Manufacturing Engineer (Metal) to support the continued development of an advanced, industry leading AM facility. You will work with cutting edge technologies and play a key role in deploying new Lithography Metal Manufacturing (LMM) capabilities across a broad range of engineering applications.
This is a hands on role ideal for an engineer with strong metal manufacturing expertise, particularly in binderbased metal processes, sintering and de-binding. You will collaborate across multiple technical functions to drive improvements in cost, time and quality throughout the product lifecycle.

What's on offer:

Location: Crewe, Cheshire (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

Contract: Inside IR35 – PAYE Only

Hours: 35 per week

End Date: 30/06/2026 (with potential extension)

Youll join a technical development team working at the forefront of R&D, responsible for:

Operating and evolving a world class additive manufacturing facility.
Supporting innovation, prototyping and advanced engineering projects.
Enabling teams across the business to adopt and benefit from AM technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the technical lead for in house metal additive manufacturing.
Operate, schedule and oversee the LMM metal printer, including all post processing and sintering activities.
Develop and optimise print, de-binding and sintering parameters for multiple materials and applications.
Coordinate material and component level validation testing, including finishing and post processing methods.
Support colleagues using polymer AM technologies, especially powder based systems (MJF/SLS).
Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate metal AM solutions into the full product development process.
Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to relevant manufacturing safety standards.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:
Experience with LMM hardware or similar binder based metal AM processes.
Strong practical understanding of sintering, de-binding and furnace operations.
Proficiency in 3D CAD with a solid grasp of DfAM principles.
Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Safety first mindset and understanding of manufacturing safety procedures.

Desirable:
Experience with polymer powder based AM (MJF/SLS).
Experience in automotive, aerospace, defence, medical device or other precision engineering sectors.
