Graduate Engineer – Operational Excellence

Exciting new career opportunity for a graduate engineer to develop their career in operational excellence with a global manufacturer. Your role will be key in driving continuous improvement, process optimisation and performance excellence throughout a UK site. This role requires a degree qualified engineer with experience of Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing gained within a production or industrial environment

Our client is a global manufacturing organisation with over 360 plants worldwide, operating across 40 countries, and generating an annual turnover exceeding GBP36 billion. The business has significant OPEX and CAPEX investments aimed at expanding capacity, improving sustainability, and advancing operational performance.

Your responsibilities will include:
As the primary contact for Operational Excellence you will partner with the Leadership Team to drive site-wide improvement initiatives.
Lead Continuous Improvement events using methodologies such as 5S, Visual Management and Root Cause Analysis (DMAIC).
Identify and deliver process improvement projects that enhance quality, reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Develop and monitor performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of improvement initiatives
Ensure all activities align with safety, quality, and cost objectives, contributing to overall plant performance and sustainability goals.

What you'll bring:
Degree qualified in chemical, electrical, energy or mechanical engineering
Proven experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing within a production or industrial environment (this can be gained during an industrial placement or post grad)
Strong knowledge of Lean tools and techniques (5S, Kaizen, DMAIC, Visual Management)
Understanding of OPEX and CAPEX improvement processes
Confidence to lead change and influence stakeholders at all levels
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and confident communication skills
