As a Mechanically Biased Day Engineer for a leading food manufacturer, you will be responsible for managing engineers, leading projects and providing PPM and OEE support company's Trafford Park manufacturing site.

Our client is an established manufacturer of authentic global foods with a state-of-the-art factory which has had 35million in CapEX over the last two years, with further projects planned to implement a CMMS and build a new engineering store.

This challenging role requires a time served/apprentice trained engineer with previous experience in a fast-paced environment. The site is AA BRC rated; therefore, candidates must have experience of working within a highly regulated/audited site within food, drink or packaging manufacturing.

Your responsibilities as a Mechanically Biased Day Engineer will include:

Perform routine planned maintenance and maintenance requests to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and automation issues promptly to maintain production flow.
Conduct breakdown repairs of plant and site service equipment utilising problem solving to drive 100-year fix mentality
Identify opportunities for process optimisation and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste through effective use of the change management procedure
Support and coach relevant employees in all aspects of shared maintenance
Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice

Your Profile:

Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (Mechanical or Multi skilled) – ONC or BTEC equivalent, HNC (desirable) with demonstrable electrical and mechanical maintenance skills
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems used in food manufacturing.
Problem-solving and analytical skills to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues
High attention to detail to ensure precision in maintenance and repairs to uphold quality standards.

What's on offer:
Mon- Thur 6am-6pm.
GBP50,000 basic plus 5% annual bonus
GBP3000 joining bonus paid Dec 2026
Overtime available Fridays & Weekends – 1.5X
22 days holiday
