As Exterior Lighting Engineer with this luxury car company, you will deliver automotive Lighting Functions and Associated Lighting Hardware. You will be responsible for the specification, test, integration and validation to achieve the cost, weight, timing and quality targets for the project, achieving engineering signoff for lighting systems & functions within the project timing.
Whats on offer:
Competitive hourly rate (can be outside IR35)
Hybrid – required onsite for Meetings/testing (usually 3 days pw but flexible)
35 hours per week
Current end: 31/01/2026 – likely to extend
What will make you successful:
Engineering degree qualified with exterior lighting design expertise gained with a vehicle manufacturer or 1st tier supplier (lighting design experience within aviation or defence will also be considered)
Detailed knowledge of:
automotive lighting regulations and directives.
independent data interrogation CATIA V5.
product design using CATIA V5
Project management and Supplier management control.
Good understanding of:
plastic mould capabilities and applies this in designs
vehicle electrical architecture, function and integration
complex plastic injection moulding tooling
FuSi requirements
optical design and the distribution of light
