As a Test & Validation Technician you will be responsible for providing technical support to the Validation engineering team. It is a hands-on job that will include performance checking, testing, rework and strip down analysis of Electric Power Steering systems. It also requires a degree of computer literacy for analysing and reporting test results. The position requires someone who is self-motivated, adaptable, can work under pressure and has good planning & organisational skills
Responsibilities include:
Perform assigned tests on existing test equipment, with respect to Quality Manual, Customer Specifications and Test Equipment Work Instructions, including mechanical and electronic set-up of components.
Process samples, from receipt through inflow checks, functional characterisation, outflow and despatch to meet customer deadlines.
Be familiar with and supportive of test and validation timing plans.
Be familiar and supportive of the T&V Department quality procedures.
Be familiar with and maintain equipment stores, including rig spares, test fixtures and test equipment.
Perform and report detailed strip down analysis of test samples.
The ideal candidate:
Ideally time serviced apprentice with a background in testing high accuracy sub-assemblies.
Conscientious self-starter with attention to detail, accuracy, record-keeping and organisational skills
Understanding of basic Electro mechanical principles.
Familiar with working within a quality system such as ISO17025 or QS16949
Familiarity with Company PDM and GDPIM process is desirable.
PC literate and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Practical person with a flexible and willing approach
A good communicator who is comfortable at all levels and with customers
A teamplayer who is willing to travel abroad occasionally, work shifts and overtime, sometimes at short notice.
