As Principal Engineer your role will involve the engineering project management of Braking Application Projects including mechanical (e.g. actuation, calipers, drumbrake, rotors and friction) and electro-mechanical systems within customers of the UK based Braking Systems Group.

Principal Accountabilities:
Participate in the promotion of new braking/ chassis systems into UK customer portfolio
Lead Braking Systems acquisition process within a given customer or project
Responsible for requirements management of systems or product projects
Responsible for APDF process and maintenance tracking project changes
Braking Systems Project Planning within GDPIM and C40 guidelines
Detailed regular and frequent meetings/ liaison with customer engineers and management in order to progress projects to schedule
Responsible for Engineering prototype management
Responsible for liaison with any external supplier supporting the delivery  of customer programmes or specific projects
Lead problem solving teams internally or externally related to customer or projects using C40 or 8D processes
Contribution to the technical capability of the group

Key Skills/Personal Characteristics:-
Educated to degree standard with several years braking and/ or vehicle systems experience
Experience of vehicle electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems with excellent problem solving ability
Behavioural and personality characteristics consistent with significant customer exposure
Self motivated and able to work without direct supervision
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to work with most MS Office applications but especially Excel and Project
Flexibility to travel extensively as and when required
German language skills advantageous
