Brake Systems Engineering is responsible for delivering some of the latest automotive safety features such as ESC and Brake Assist, using cutting edge technologies to enhance driver, passenger and pedestrian safety. Your work will be validated on test tracks and race circuits around the world, and at the company’s winter testing facility on the frozen lakes of north Sweden

As part of this team, you will develop your expertise in:

Control algorithm development: Creation of new techniques & processes for slip control systems, requiring excellent software coding skills and a sound background in vehicle dynamics
System Application: Tailoring of electronic systems to meet the needs of a global customer base and to ensure that legal, customer & company performance and safety standards are achieved
Vehicle test: On the frozen lakes in northern Sweden and proving grounds around the world, the engineering of slip control systems requires professional levels of vehicle control skills together with the discipline to consistently repeat demanding limit-handling manoeuvres
Data Logging Systems: The company’s n-house data acquisition system allows high speed monitoring of analogue, thermal, high-speed serial and CAN data channels. Together with other industry standard logging tools, the ability to interpret data from the logging systems play a major part in performance analysis & enhancement
Customer management: To ensure that the development process runs smoothly, regular direct contact with the customer is essential, from defining system requirements to final performance sign-off

What we are looking for:

Essential:
Educated to degree standard
Experienced in vehicle development and high-speed test track driving
Familiar with C programming language for PC & embedded applications
Familiar with Vector CAN products, including customising for use in system calibration

Desirable:
Self motivated and able to work without direct supervision
Excellent communication skills, particularly reporting
Ability to work with MS Office applications
Willing to travel extensively, and for several weeks at a time
German language skills advantageous
