The Role:
As NVH Principal Engineer your role involves a wide range of NVH related tasks ranging from leadership of NVH tasks towards external customers and suppliers as well as internal ones to simple FRF test work for identifying first bending modes and to complete sub system NVH in the vehicle environment. You will be involved in continuous development and updating of NVH test methodologies, and expectation is given to new ideas and proposals, too.

The Company:
One of the world’s largest producers of vehicle safety systems supplying a wide range of vehicle manufacturers including VW, Ford, GM, Mercedes, Peugeot, Renault and Fiat. The design of these products is performed in the company’s prestigious technical centre in the West Midlands, home of high tech Engineering Research & Development activities for over 40 years.

What you’ll do:
Lead own NVH tasks defined for and in the NVH team within EPS Column Drive
Investigate, measure, analyse and report on NVH issues at any level using structured test methodologies to prevent production issues
Develop NVH specifications for the system and cascade them from vehicle to component level
Provide support to production sites around the World
Develop new component level specifications using proven test methodologies
Carry out administration tasks as time booking, report creating, etc. in timely manner

What we are looking for:

Essential:
Extensive experience in practical NVH measurements and problem solving
Degree level qualified in a related subject area or proven practical experience
Experience with steering and steering products like bearing and motor noise would be advantageous
Experience with industry standard NVH equipment, LMS, PAK, Head Acoustics etc.
Matlab and / or Labview with some programming expertise preferred

Desirable:
Leadership of projects or program would be advantageous
Experience in performing operating deflection shape measurements and modal analysis would be advantageous, performed using LMS Test Lab
Experiment design experience using DOE, Shainin and / or Six Sigma methodologies would be advantageous
German language skills advantageous
