World renowned Aerospace industry specialist in Bedfordshire is looking to recruit a Lead Engineer – Airworthiness.  The successful Lead Engineer will be working for a company that specializes in the manufacturer of aircraft/aerospace passenger cabin interior products for the commercial and business jet aircraft markets.  This company has leading worldwide market shares in all of their major product lines and serve virtually all of the world’s airlines & aircraft manufacturers.

The appointed Lead Airworthiness Engineer will have an engineering degree or be educated to HNC standard and will have previously held Airworthiness Signatory Status.  The Lead Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Office of Airworthiness and delegated approval process and procedures for airworthiness activities for the design organization.  The successful Airworthiness Engineer will have technical and operational experience within the Aerospace industry, have a good understanding of Airworthiness regulations and certification for large aircraft, proven EASA Part 21 and CS25 capability with strong compliance and documentation skills and be able to demonstrate good leadership, motivational and leadership skills.

Lead Engineer – Airworthiness – Responsibilities Include:
**Support the management and upkeep of the design office handbook
**Maintain process and procedures of the design organization, specifically the preparation and checking of compliance to Part 21
**Ensure capability and competence of external subcontractors inclusive of test facilities are current and be capable of conducting technical audits on behalf of the design organization
**Support the development and integration of Delegated Authority from Aircraft manufacturers’ design organizations
**Be prepared to act as an authorized on-site certification representative, on behalf of Airbus DOA
**Conduct airworthiness awareness training for colleagues, including an introduction to airworthiness and a refresher for employees with intermittent exposure to airworthiness requirements
**Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, partners, suppliers all sister sites
**Support the certification Director in the maintenance and control of the DOA Office of Airworthiness in general
**Function as a key contributor to the development and maintenance of the Business Centre of Excellence
**Any other reasonable duties as required

Other Information:
**Travel requirement – 20%-30% depending on business needs
**Hours of Work – Standard Staff Hours – 39 hours per week

Core hours Monday to Thursday, 09.00 to 16.30. Core hours Fridays, 09.00 to
12.30. Additional 7.5 flexible hours to be worked each week:
Monday to Wednesday between:
**07.30 to 09.00
**16.30 to 18.00
Thursday between:
**07.30 to 09.00
**16.30 to 19.00
Friday between:
**07.30 and 09.00
**12.30 and 14.00
