Working for this leading global automotive you will form the nucleus of a new Global Test and Validation scheduling and planning function, reporting directly into, and working closely with, the Global Chief Engineer – Test & Validation.
The Test & Validation Department verifies and validates steering products from initial concept designs through to product launch often under rapidly changing priorities with multiple synchronous activities.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to join team responsible for planning, coordinating and reporting validation and performance testing of Electric Power Steering systems to ensure that they comply with internal, customer and legal requirements.
What you’ll do
“ Lead the introduction of a Global Capacity planning process (using MS Project) and coordinate it’s use when established
“ Create a global overview of test resource requirements (manpower and equipment) for planning and forecasting purposes
“ Work closely with regional laboratories to schedule the required tests in order to meet required timescales
“ Work closely with the Global Chief Engineer to forecast future resource needs (manpower and equipment) and support formulation of resource and CAPEX plans
“ Work with business win teams and resource planning group to plan and forecast future test & validation resource requirements for submission to CQA and the budget process
What we are looking for
Essential:
“ Logical and methodical approach, with good leadership, planning and communication skills
“ Degree qualified in an appropriate engineering or mathematical discipline
“ Able to work with large data sets and information from multiple sources
“ Able to adapt to rapidly varying work requirements
“ Experience in, or an appreciation of, an operational test laboratory
“ Able to produce clear and accurate technical reports
“ Conscientious self-starter with attention to detail, accuracy and record-keeping
“ Fully conversant with standard PC applications, such as Word, Excel, Project, etc.
Desirable:
“ Practical experience in a controlled Test, Validation or Prototype Production environment.
“ Six Sigma experience
