As experienced Engineering Project Manager is required for a prestigous international company supplying a wide range of global vehicle manufacturers. Key to vehicle safety, company products must meet stringent legislative requirements while also satisfying increasing demands from end-users, resulting in a highly technical product that requires high calibre engineers. As the Engineering Project Manager you will manage the launch of engineering customer application projects and the cross functional Engineering team.  You will have responsibility for the technical aspects of projects and the customer interface, for on time delivery of project against the metrics of time, quality and cost.

This role of Engineering Project Manager is based at the company’s prestigious technical centre in the Midlands. With additional technical centres and multiple plants throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, the focus of the role is very much global, giving the chance to influence products worldwide.

What you’ll do

” Technical direction for the project ” Manage the cross functional engineering team to deliver engineering customer application project for launch” Proactively identify and manage the technical risk within the project” Lead the development of the project plan, identify resource and budget requirements” Ensure that the appropriate resources and budgets are allocated to deliver the project” Manage progress of the team against the engineering plan, escalating issues appropriately” Ensure quality and timeliness of project deliverables, internal and external clients” Manage and control the engineering spend against the project budget” Official technical interface to the customer – most senior engineering representative

” Degree level qualified in a relevant engineering discipline ” Strong engineering background in automotive with a history of high complexity product launches” People management & leadership skills                                          ” Ability to plan, organise and prioritise” Problem solving skills and techniques” Excellent communication and presentation skills” Self motivated    ” Willingness to travel globally
