World renowned Aerospace industry specialist in Bedfordshire is looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer. The successful Electrical Engineer will be assisting in the qualification, testing and certification of major aircraft interior programmes and providing technical support for ongoing continued airworthiness queries. The suitable applicant will be educated to degree in Electrical Engineering or ONC/HNC in an electrical design related field.
You will be working for a company that specializes in the manufacturer of aircraft/aerospace passenger cabin interior products for the commercial and business jet aircraft markets. They have leading worldwide market shares in all of their major product lines and serve virtually all of the world’s airlines & aircraft manufacturers. As the Electrical Engineer you will be working with Senior Electrical Engineers, Design and Certification Engineers, the Engineering Director and the Certification Director. Your role will be to support those departments that interface with certification (e.g. sales, marketing, operations, quality, aftermarket).
The successful Electrical Certification Engineer will have previous experience in a design organisation involved in aerospace design. You will be familiar with current EASA and FAA regulations pertaining to aircraft interior designs, EMI/EMC and EWIS. Ideally you will have experience in Test verification and be CVE or working towards becoming a CVE, so having a keen awareness of the certification framework is essential.
The Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Certification Engineer include:
The appointed Certification Engineer will ensure that company design can be certified to CS/FAR25 regulations and satisfies the relevant contractual specifications through the generation of qualification evidence.
General Checking of:
**Generation and checking of;
**Qualification Plans/Strategies
**Qualification and Test Plans
**Qualification Test Reports
**Statements of compliance
**Equipment Specifications
Independent verification of documents such as:
**Wiring diagrams.
**Electrical Load Analysis
**Grounding and Bonding Analysis
**Supplier qualification documentation
**FMEA
Support:
**Support problem solving during manufacturing build process and functional testing.
**Customer Support
**Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process
**Support the selection and application of components appropriate for design
**Preparation of schemes and provision of technical support for test programmes. To analyse test results and report findings.
**To provide ‘support to production’ services including investigation to queries raised through Design Query Notes and Non-Conformity Reports, production permits and concessions and any other matter where production time scales are potentially adversely affected.
**Any other duties are required.
Technical Skills / Competencies Required:
**Effective use of Microsoft Word and Excel
**Sufficient engineering capability and experience to create effective engineered solutions
**A working knowledge of the principle of electrical installation and systems integration and design (incl EMI/EMC, EWIS, Databus, ELA, etc.)
**A working knowledge of the various methods of manufacture of electrical and mechanical components and assemblies.
**An understanding of aircraft interior architecture with a working knowledge of Boeing, Airbus requirements
**An understanding of the best practice for the integration of mechanical and electrical systems
**Awareness of the certification framework within which the work is undertaken
**A good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
