A Configuration Management Specialist is required by one of the world’s largest producers of electrically powered steering systems, supplying a wide range of global vehicle manufacturers. Key to vehicle safety, these products must meet stringent legislative requirements while also satisfying increasing demands from end-users, resulting in a highly technical product that requires high calibre engineers.
This is an exciting opportunity that encompasses both Configuration Management (CM) and Project Management (PM) support services. You will take the lead in establishing and maintaining conformance of a product’s performance to requirements documentation, detailed design documentation, and functional/physical attributes throughout its life. 

What you’ll do as Configuration Management Specialist

“ Lead project teams in a disciplined release & change process of engineering part attributes, Bill of Materials, and related documents
“ Provide new product development project start-up services (e.g. system set-up of project and project staff)
“ Capture system data and assemble reports and presentations to support Engineering metrics
“ Identify opportunities to improve current processes and system tools
“ Train new users in the Standard Processes & use of Product Data Management (PDM) tools and Project Management systems
“ Create Work Instructions
“ Provide local support of the Global Engineering Library
“ Coordinate the release of documentation, drawings, reports, specifications  and Bills of Materials by off shore administration personnel

What we are looking for

Essential:
“ Experience in Configuration Management and/or a Project Management support position
“ Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline
“ Ability to multitask and strong problem solving skills
“ Excellent communication and good organisational skills
“ Ability to lead and a proactive approach
“ Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
“ Working knowledge of PDM tools
“ Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary global environment

Desirable:
“ CMII Certification (from Institute of Configuration Management) and/or PM certification is advantageous
“ Able to travel internationally when required
