Role: CAE Senior Product Engineer  – Chassis Systems

As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for conducting CAE simulation tasks focusing on crash performance. You will be provided with challenging opportunities to expand existing and new methods in a global environment.

What you’ll do:
Liaise with, and provide guidance to the mechanical design team in the CAE analysis of steering column systems to be compliant with customer specifications and legal requirements
Interface with customer CAE departments to ensure proper delivery of CAE models and results according to agreed timelines and processes
Create, analyse, modify & post process mathematical models and correlate to test data. You will be required to interpret results with a view to improving the design of the product against given design criteria
Generate work packages & manage low-cost country CAE engineers to support mechanical design deliveries
Develop continuous improvement of processes and methodologies through the use of automation and customization
Collaborate with other global CAE Teams in Europe and US to share best practice and standards

What we are looking for:

Essential:
Educated to degree standard with solid mechanical and numerical analysis background
Solid knowledge in one of the typical commercially available FEA crash software packages such as Abaqus/Explicit, Pam Crash, LS-Dyna, HyperWorks/Radioss
Familiar with the analysis of crash relevant systems

Desirable:
Ability to work to given timescales and prioritise projects
Team player with excellent communication skills; able to provide technical information both verbally and in technical reports or presentations
Basic knowledge of system level dynamic modelling would be advantageous
Knowledge of “Six Sigma” methodologies would be advantageous
German language skills advantageous
