<p>Working with this leading Tier 1 supplier in the global automotive sector, you will  be responsible for managing the global commodity purchasing team who are responsible for the commercial purchasing of ECUs, Motors, PCBAs and Relays used in Steering, Braking and Occupant Safety applications.</p>
<p>This position is also responsible for the development and execution of external sourcing strategy, where global competitive sourcing has a significant role to play.</p>
<p>There are 13 Strategic &amp; Preferred Suppliers and a further 30 legacy suppliers in the current base.  Total annual spend is in region of $550M.<br />
What you&#8217;ll do</p>
<p>&#8220; Ensure technology and supply base strategies are adequately defined, agreed with various  cross functions and executed for all sub commodity responsibility worldwide</p>
<p>&#8220; Manage supply base globally to achieve year on year cost savings to beyond Operating Plan targets</p>
<p>&#8220; Leverage the global buying position with suppliers to ensure programs are satisfied with best price, technology and quality</p>
<p>&#8220; Lead liability cost recovery activities to attain best possible returns</p>
<p>&#8220; Be responsible for managing escalation issues with Suppliers who negatively impact through proposed higher prices, supply or quality risk</p>
<p>&#8220; Interface to Product Line purchasing, Engineering, Program Management  and Finance at all levels</p>
<p>&#8220; Interface with all suppliers up to CEO/CFO  level as required</p>

<p>As Project Manager with a leading automotive manufacturing business you will represent the purchasing and design function within the project team. The Project Manager will liaise with the Design team to understand the engineering drawings as well as liaise with the Romania manufacturing plant and buying team located in France to ensure all components are possible for production.  You must demonstrate a strong manufacturing background and posses a HND / HNC or engineering degree.</p>
<p>Responsibilities include:<br />
Liaise with the design team to understand engineering drawings<br />
Communicate with the buying department to ensure all components ordered from suppliers meet with design specification<br />
Represent the purchasing function to all assigned project and product teams.<br />
Liaise with the manufacturing plant to communicate design &amp; purchasing requirements<br />

Utilize all available tools (value stream mapping, VA/VE, etc.) early in product development to influence design and sourcing to reduce cost and improve quality.<br />
Responsible to communicate engineering changes on current parts to category buyers.<br />
Collaborate with the category buyer and BCC team on all sourcing decisions on identifying opportunities for link and leverage, for best cost country sourcing and localization.<br />

<p>As Purchasing Manager you  will support the Supply Chain Manager in developing and implementing a range of strategic and tactical objectives to the best cost benefit possible. This will include developing mutually beneficial supply partnerships and managing low cost sourcing initiatives.</p>
<p>Their main role will be that of managing the tactical purchasing decisions of their own select range of suppliers and those of the Purchasing Assistants. In addition they will support and  the Supply Chain Manager on Strategic Sourcing Projects, as well as identifying, initiating and managing their own their own strategic sourcing projects<br />
 <br />
They will be assigned responsibility for sourcing and purchasing raw materials for manufacture from the our highest profile suppliers, as well as managing supply issues of other team members suppliers if deemed appropriate.   These include, but are not limited to the following: Far East Suppliers and Eastern European Suppliers.</p>
<p>They will also be responsible for managing a range of vendor managed / consignment stock agreements which are in place and will be involved in developing new agreements where there are opportunities to improve the on time delivery performance to our customers.</p>
<p>In addition they will develop supplier relationships, monitor vendor performance, and coordinate the supplier review program and work towards collective continuous improvement. They will need to have proven man management skills as this person will be expected to guide a team forward following the agreed department objectives.</p>
<p>They will be fundamental in moving the supply chain forward to ensure that we continue to have a proactive and not reactive supply chain. Here demonstrable project management skills are required as not only will the candidate be dealing with third party suppliers but group companies and partner agencies.</p>
<p>The candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing; it is desirable that the candidate have in depth experience of engineering procurement, (mechanical, electronic or electrical) as well as good ERP skills, with SAP in particular being preferred.</p>

<p>As the Senior Product Line Purchasing Manager for electronics you will to lead the Product Line Purchasing Organization for Global Electronics.  Numerous opportunities and challenges exist to transform the purchasing support of braking, steering, and powertrain electronics into an extremely effective part of the overall Global Electronics organization.  Global Electronics is a very fast paced and dynamic organization that is exposed and dependent upon the adoption of technology advancements within the electronics industry.<br />

The role will provide global purchasing leadership for braking and steering electronics purchasing functions covering Europe, North America, AP, and South America.  The development and introduction of electronics within TRW requires cross functional interaction with engineering, program management, commodity purchasing, quality, supplier development, manufacturing facilities, etc. on a global basis.</p>
<p>What you&#8217;ll do</p>
<p>&#8220; Provide global leadership to regional teams on the management and coordination of Bill of Materials for Steering and Braking electronics<br />
&#8220; Manage the Bill of Material for programs from the point of award to start of production while striving to exceed forecasted and committed BOM targets.<br />
&#8220; Manage the sourcing process for components with the commodity purchasing organization<br />
&#8220; Develop and deliver with the Global Electronics organization and commodity purchasing teams operating plans to meet business unit objectives<br />
&#8220; Develop with engineering and commodity purchasing the appropriate supplier and sourcing strategies to deliver exception savings performance into the braking, steering, and powertrain electronics business<br />
&#8220; Interface with manufacturing sites to manage critical supplier issues as they arise<br />
&#8220; Establish and manage VAVE roadmaps with Value Management Team, Engineering, Commodity Teams, and suppliers</p>
<p>What we are looking for</p>

An exciting opportunity to join a world-class global purchasing team responsible for $560M annual spend on a variety of electronics components. The company is one of the world&#8217;s largest producers of safety systems, supplying a wide range of vehicle manufacturers including VW, Ford, GM, Mercedes, Peugeot, Renault and Fiat.</p>
<p>What you&#8217;ll do<br />
Responsible for strategic sourcing of assigned commodity parts<br />
Manage supply base to include renewal of agreements and assisting suppliers in problem solving and tracking corrective actions<br />
Conduct supplier assessments for potential new suppliers.<br />
Gather and analyse supplier data to prepare analysis and recommendation for supplier selection, with focus on sourcing in low-cost countries<br />
Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance<br />
Develops and executes sourcing strategies and prepares monthly reports to track and show sourcing strategy and progress, including achievement of spend reduction targets<br />
Interface with internal customers on critical supplier issues as necessary<br />
Some travel, globally or regionally depending on assigned commodities<br />
Provide advise/guidance to Buyers or Senior Buyers within the Commodity or Global Purchasing function and/or lead special projects as assigned by senior leadership</p>
<p>What we are looking for:</p>
<p>Essential:<br />
Solid experience within direct purchasing or equivalent experience, including experience negotiating with suppliers and managing the supply base post-negotiations<br />
Bachelor&#8217;s degree  in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or related area.<br />
Prior experience with global or regional sourcing processes/decision making<br />
Demonstrated performance in working cross-functionally and/or within a matrixed organization and working independently to obtain results<br />
Able to independently troubleshoot issues/concerns and determine course of action<br />
Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and leadership skills.</p>
<p>Desirable:<br />
Prior purchasing experience involving spend in excess of $50 million<br />
Asian languages skills would be an advantage.<br />
Six Sigma certification or similar continuous improvement training/certification highly desired. </p>
