<p>Working for one of the world&#8217;s largest producers of electrically powered steering systems, supplying a wide range of global vehicle manufacturers. Key to vehicle safety, these products must meet stringent legislative requirements, while also satisfying increasing demands from end-users, resulting in a highly technical product.</p>
<p>This is an exciting opportunity for someone to perform the role of managing the Test &amp; Validation Laboratory responsible for the validation of Column Drive (CD) EPS systems. The role is ideally suited to an engineer with previous management experience and knowledge in a test environment. You will hold responsibility for the coordination and management of staff and equipment (durability and functional test rigs) to provide a Test &amp; Validation facility/service to aid the development and launch of new steering systems. You will work with engineers, suppliers and Quality and Production teams to deliver components to meet customer requirements.<br />
What you&#8217;ll do</p>
<p>&#8220; Plan and oversee the test schedule and determine best use of resource to meet the demands of the engineering programme<br />
&#8220; Supervise the planned testing ensuring specifications are followed and timing plans are met<br />
&#8220; Ensure timely reporting of test results<br />
&#8220; Manage and coordinate the testing of samples as part of the overall validation process<br />
&#8220; Monitor and oversee the department&#8217;s financial performance in order to achieve budget targets<br />
&#8220; Identify test equipment requirements (both short and long term), produce appropriate specifications and liaise with suppliers for procurement<br />
&#8220; Coordinate and liaise with other Steering T&amp;V laboratories to share best practice and maximise equipment utilisation by transferring work or skills as appropriate<br />
&#8220; Ensure departmental compliance with the relevant quality standards<br />
&#8220; Day to day supervision of the department</p>
<p>What we are looking for</p>
<p>Essential:<br />
&#8220; 2.1 or better degree in a relevant engineering discipline (ideally mechanical engineering)<br />
&#8220; Extensive project management experience with the ability to drive for results<br />
&#8220; Good communication &amp; leadership skills<br />
&#8220; Demonstrated ability to work proactively<br />
&#8220; Rigorous and positive approach to work under a rapidly changing environment with demanding timescales</p>
<p>Desirable:<br />
&#8220; Experience of working in an automotive environment, particularly test<br />
&#8220; Knowledge of testing electro mechanical systems<br />

<p>Working with this leading Tier 1 supplier in the global automotive sector, you will  be responsible for managing the global commodity purchasing team who are responsible for the commercial purchasing of ECUs, Motors, PCBAs and Relays used in Steering, Braking and Occupant Safety applications.</p>
<p>This position is also responsible for the development and execution of external sourcing strategy, where global competitive sourcing has a significant role to play.</p>
<p>There are 13 Strategic &amp; Preferred Suppliers and a further 30 legacy suppliers in the current base.  Total annual spend is in region of $550M.<br />
What you&#8217;ll do</p>
<p>&#8220; Ensure technology and supply base strategies are adequately defined, agreed with various  cross functions and executed for all sub commodity responsibility worldwide</p>
<p>&#8220; Manage supply base globally to achieve year on year cost savings to beyond Operating Plan targets</p>
<p>&#8220; Leverage the global buying position with suppliers to ensure programs are satisfied with best price, technology and quality</p>
<p>&#8220; Lead liability cost recovery activities to attain best possible returns</p>
<p>&#8220; Be responsible for managing escalation issues with Suppliers who negatively impact through proposed higher prices, supply or quality risk</p>
<p>&#8220; Interface to Product Line purchasing, Engineering, Program Management  and Finance at all levels</p>
<p>&#8220; Interface with all suppliers up to CEO/CFO  level as required</p>

<p>The position of UK OEM Sales Manager (connectors) is pivotal to the success of the company&#8217;s Divisional EMEA sales strategy. The role will focus on demand creation through development of existing and new OEM accounts in the UK for the company&#8217;s range of connectors. Key markets for the company include industrial printing, utilities, packaging, traffic management, lighting, heating and refrigeration. Reporting to the EMEA Components Sales Manager, there will be regular contact from shop floor to MD level inside the business with continual customer contact at all levels.  As the OEM Sales Manager you will also be responsible for a Sales Manager selling another of the company&#8217;s brands into the UK market.</p>
<p>UK OEM Sales Manager (connectors) Essential Functions:<br />
* In conjunction with management, develop a sales strategy for the assigned region that secures significant and profitable business growth<br />
* Maintain and develop business at existing accounts and develop new OEM accounts in the UK, with focus on high value accounts.<br />
* Feedback market information, relating to new potential sectors for company products in the UK<br />
* Ensure that the sales and margin targets are met<br />
* Promote new products, and identify new product opportunities through customer interaction<br />
* Provide regular reports detailing opportunities identified in the UK<br />
* Provide Monthly Sales and Booking forecast for the UK<br />

* Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and its execution for the region<br />

* Collate information and occasional specific reports for senior management</p>

<p>Duties over the next 3-6 months<br />
. Manage the day to day customer business<br />
. Review current practices and implement new or revised structure as appropriate<br />
. Project manage new customer team<br />
. Develop plan for future growth</p>
<p>As Customer Programmes Manager your key accountabilities:<br />
. Develop implement and maintain customer business<br />
. Determine short, mid, and long term growth strategy in line with growth predictions as recorded in yearly budgets and ensure resource planning is in place to deliver operational objectives relating to budget targets<br />
. Responsible for car build production budgets and planning to meet monthly and yearly targets<br />
. Set and recruit staff to agreed budget and build plan<br />
. Monitor quality, cost and delivery within production and take decisions and actions accordingly<br />
. Implement continuous improvement plan.  Targeting &gt;5% improvement year on year for quality, cost and delivery<br />
. Ensure smooth day to day running of low volume assembly operation plus one off&#8217;s and prototypes<br />
. Responsible for all sales and car build stock ensuring slow moving stock with last used date &gt;3months is &lt;£50k<br />
. Plan, coordinate and meet challenging deadlines in line with external customer requirements<br />
. Set and monitor quality standards, ensuring all problems are reported via PICR and detailed monthly/weekly via KPI system<br />
. Responsible for production related direct and indirect costs (Turnover, Personnel costs, material costs)<br />
. Provide regular management updates on build progress<br />
. Responsible for health and safety of Customer Car Build department, ensuring legislation is adhered to<br />
. Set site standards in accordance with company expectations and develop plan of continuous improvement<br />
. Generate training programmes and ensure training and development of all staff is up to date, relevant and recorded<br />
. Deal with Personnel issues in regards to staff performance, absenteeism, over time, as well as Appraising</p>
<p>The Ideal Customer Programme Manager:<br />
.Preferably Engineering HNC/HND Degree, or relevant experience<br />
. Background within Motorsport with excellent understanding of GT sports cars and hands on experience and knowledge race cars<br />
. Experience in Production/Department Manager role &#8211; preferred<br />
. Experienced in customer facing environment</p>

<p>&#8220;           A proven sales background in electron and optical microscopy, with a particular expertise in consumables, accessories and specialist preparation equipment</p>
<p>&#8220;           Experience in sample preparation for both materials and biological sciences</p>
<p>&#8220;           Have used microscopy products in a laboratory environment</p>
<p>&#8220;           Technical astuteness: being able to discuss client`s technical requirements in some depth, and provide resolutions to queries.</p>

<p>&#8220; In conjunction with management develop a sales strategy for the assigned region that secures significant and profitable business growth<br />
&#8220; Ensure that the sales and margin targets are met<br />
&#8220; Promote new products, and identify new product opportunities through customer interaction<br />
&#8220; Provide regular reports detailing opportunities identified in the region<br />
&#8220; Provide Monthly Sales and Booking forecast for the relevant region<br />
&#8220; Mentor, train, support and inspire the sales channel, proactively managing dynamic goals and targets.<br />
&#8220; Participate in demand creation at strategic accounts, principally direct OEMs<br />
&#8220; Provide written call reports on activities within customer base as required<br />
&#8220; Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and its execution for the region<br />
&#8220; Liaise with Customer Services on customer issues<br />

The design of electric steering systems is extremely challenging requiring safety-critical servo-drive performance at automotive costs. The company leads the field in many areas of design and research, and employs cutting-edge technologies in their electric motor design, industrialisation and control.</p>
<p>This is a very fast-paced sector requiring sophisticated design and analytical skills. You will be responsible for managing the requirements capture, design and production support for electric steering motor-drives.</p>
<p>What you&#8217;ll do</p>
<p>&#8220; Manage the design &amp; industrialisation of electric motor-drives for column-drive electric steering systems<br />
&#8220; Work with the lead engineers to ensure all technical requirements are delivered and issues resolved<br />

&#8220; Track and evaluate project performance to the agreed milestones, metrics and cost<br />

<p>As Rotary Pump Project Manager with a leading 1st tier automotive supplier you will to deliver current rotary program management activities and be accountable for management of multiple projects involving cross functional teams responsible for the development and industrialisation of Rotary pumps.  It is not essential to have project management experience for this role. The position will report to the Rotary Programme Manager and functionally to the Diesel Program Management Director.</p>
<p>Responsibilities as the Rotary Pump Project Manager will include:<br />
Overall responsibility to deliver flawless project launches to meet the committed objectives and flawless launch metrics<br />
Ownership of the projects from kick off to product launch in the plant, using the comapny process to assure the project meets both customer &amp; business objectives for cost, quality, delivery &amp; performance.<br />
Develop project plans (project scope, timelines, cost, resources, risk, quality, communications and procurement) then lead and deploy overall project timing to the team<br />
Coordinate the cross functional teams to develop &amp; implement plans to fit within timelines &amp; key dates<br />
Conduct regular project team meetings and ensure teams are accountable for their deliverables &amp; timelines, and manage risk escalation and resolution<br />
Support Customer meetings and support all functional discussions at customer<br />
 <br />
The ideal candidate:<br />
Engineering degree or equivalent. <br />
Project Management experience<br />
Experience of rotary pump design and processes<br />
Must be very well organised &amp; disciplined <br />
Experience with working on multi projects &#8211; up to 3-4 at any time.<br />
