Software Test Engineer responsibilities include:

o Write test cases and plans for embedded, PC  and web based applications
o Set up control test frameworks
o Execute the test cases and plans
o Develop and implement test methodologies for use across product range
o Investigate and report  potential bugs to the development team
o Produce go/no-go assessments of software products for project managers and software team leader
o Work with other functions, such as Marketing and Production, to ensure software products meet market and production requirements

The ideal candidate for the role of Software Test Engineer will possess:
“ Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
“ Solid experience in testing software in a commercial environment
“ Proven ability to test all aspects of PC application: installation, operation, upgrade and removal
“ Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development techniques preferred
“ Experience with scripting language, e.g. Python, for software test
“ Experience with C/C++ programming language
“ Familiarity with embedded system test desirable

Embedded Software Engineer responsibilities include:
o Architect embedded software applications
o Develop applications for embedded environments using C/C++
o Interfacing to PC applications through wired or wireless interfaces such as USB, Ethernet and Bluetooth or Zigbee
o Embedded control of sensors and motors using either simple interrupt driven environment or with Linux type kernels
o Work with other functions, such as Marketing and Production, to ensure software products meet market and production requirements

The ideal candidate for the role of Embedded Software Engineer will possess:
“ B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
“ Solid experience of embedded applications in a commercial environment
“ Knowledge and experience in C/C++  or C#
“ Experience with source code control systems, e.g. SVN
“ Experience with bug tracking systems
“ Experience with a range of microprocessor architectures include PIC and ARM
“ Familiarity with hardware/software design trade-offs
“ Familiarity with object orientated design techniques
“ Familiarity of simple GUIs for embedded applications
“ Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development techniques preferred

The ideal candidate for the role of PC Applications Software Engineer will possess:

“ Experience in developing PC applications and GUI software in a commercial environment

“ Knowledge and experience in C/C++  or C# and Java

“ Familiarity with cross platform GUI environments, e.g. QT

Desired experience:
“ Familiarity with Linux and Mac OS X development desirable

This is an exciting opportunity that encompasses both Configuration Management (CM) and Project Management (PM) support services. You will take the lead in establishing and maintaining conformance of a product’s performance to requirements documentation, detailed design documentation, and functional/physical attributes throughout its life.

What you’ll do

“ Lead project teams in a disciplined release & change process of engineering part attributes, Bill of Materials, and related documents
“ Provide new product development project start-up services (e.g. system set-up of project and project staff)
“ Capture system data and assemble reports and presentations to support Engineering metrics
“ Identify opportunities to improve current processes and system tools
“ Train new users in the company Standard Processes & use of  Product Data Management (PDM) tools and Project Management systems
“ Create Work Instructions
“ Provide local support of the Global Engineering Library
“ Coordinate the release of documentation, drawings, reports, specifications  and Bills of Materials by off shore administration personnel

What we are looking for

Essential:
“ Experience in Engineering Change Management
“ Engineering degree qualified
“ Ability to multitask and strong problem solving skills
“ Excellent communication and good organisational skills
“ Ability to lead and a proactive approach
“ Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
“ Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary global environment

Desirable:
“ CMII Certification (from Institute of Configuration Management) and/or PM certification is advantageous
“ Working knowledge of PDM tools
“ Background in project management, Quality or Configuration Management
“ Able to travel internationally when required
