Working for this global aerospace company as a Senior Development Engineer you will  carry out development and qualification tasks on mechanical and electronic products predominantly Aircraft generators, starters, actuator motors and associated control electronics Tasks may include but are not limited to:</p>
<p>Principle Accountabilities:</p>
<p>o Performing Electrical, Mechanical and Life tests on products (Aircraft generators, starters, actuator motors and associated control electronics) using high speed drives in conjunction with electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment and analogue and digital instrumentation.<br />
o Design of specific tests for specific customer criteria.<br />
o Design and setting up of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.<br />
o Setting up of electrical wiring to specific impedance&#8217;s.<br />
o Ability to fault find test equipment and test rigs.<br />
o Ability to use and program Data Acquisition systems (Dewetron system in conjunction with Dasy Lab software)<br />
o Writing of Technical documentation, including test procedures, Engineering Reports, Compliance Analysis, Equipment Specifications and Production Acceptance Test Specifications.<br />
o Involvement in the design process, working with engineers from other disciplines including Design, Stress, Configuration, Materials etc.<br />
o Ability to plan workload (using MS Project)<br />
o Ability to lead (Work Package Owner) a small team of Engineers, coordinating activities and liaising with Project Managers and Lead Engineers and the customer.<br />
o Perform data analysis of test results, assess trends to identify and help resolve generator performance issues. Ability to perform 6 sigma assessment for various test processes (advantageous).<br />
o Provide Technical Development and Certification advice<br />
o Ability to guide and train other engineers as required.<br />
o Design test equipment and fixtures, create marked up drawings of critical dimensions/ functionality for acceptance checks after manufacture.<br />
o Raise capital sanctions for high cost items including procurement specifications, financial and technical justification and acceptance test requirements.</p>
<p>Basic Qualifications :  o An electrical biased aerospace degree with some mechanical experience is desirable. Ratio is approximately. 70% electrical / 30% mechanical bias or equivalent.</p>
<p>o Must be self-sufficient and largely self-motivated.</p>
<p>o Ability to communicate clearly through written and verbal means to all levels of staff e.g. reports, interact with other Engineering teams.<br />
o Ability to work under pressure to meet programme deadline<br />
o Broad Development / certification knowledge and experience e.g. thorough understanding of all aspects of Development Engineering including Compliance Verification, Technical Risk, compilation of technical documentation, use of instrumentation<br />
o Experienced in MS Excel, Flexpro, DasyLab.<br />
o Basic knowledge of 3 stage generators, ac &amp; dc starter motors, actuator motors. Experience of full aircraft electrical system would be an advantage.<br />
o Good working knowledge of MS Software i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project.<br />

<p>Senior Specialist Engineer &#8211; FPGA Design with Control Systems. Working within a flexible design environment this role will commence by being responsible for specification, design, verification, certification and maintenance of new and existing FPGA designs within the client range of products  This may involve aspects of control system design / evaluation for FPGA implementation in motor control applications.  To perform peer review of code, verification and deliverables, and to promote the effective application of FPGA / ASIC technologies, tools and processes.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will be expected to keep abreast of technological developments within the electronics field and to understand the overall function of the product and its role in the aircraft&#8217;s electrical power generation system.</p>
<p>Principle Accountabilities:<br />
To be responsible for FPGA design in  products from concept to the achievement of specification compliance and DO-254 certification in line with applicable processes. To achieve efficient co-working with engineers . To contribute to concept definition, evaluation, specification and interface design of FPGAs, identifying efficient solutions. Estimate realistic schedules for FPGA workpackage tasks. Perform VHDL code design to applicable processes and standard, maintaining compliance with specification and traceability.  Participate in control system design / evaluation for FPGA implementation in motor control applications as required.  Perform simulation test design to applicable processes/ standard to demonstrate compliance to specification (includes definition of verification requirements and report). Support system/product development changes with FPGA revisions under the required standard of configuration management. Prepare and maintain the necessary documentation and pass reviews needed for DO-254 certification and production release.  Act as independent reviewer of deliverables produced by others (specification, code, firmware release, testbench, verification plan and report). Understand the unit/ system application of FPGAs as appropriate, and to collaborate with the hardware and systems groups to produce working systems and to meet overall project requirements (cost, timescale, weight, reliability, and maintainability criteria). Understand existing FPGAs/ ASICs as needed to provide effective design maintenance as required.  Contribute to FPGA team improvement of FPGA design processes and tools. Follow GPS operating procedures and participate in engineering improvement activities aimed at increasing efficiency and quality of work.</p>
<p>Basic Qualifications :</p>
<p>1. Strong demonstrable experience of FPGA design (preferably VHDL) and verification by simulation with good knowledge of the following software tools: VHDL simulators (e.g. Modelsim), synthesis tools (e.g. Synplicity), FPGA design fitting tools (e.g. Actel Designer Series, Xilinx or Altera alternative).<br />
2. Demonstrable experience of control system design and analysis for implementation in FPGAs. This may include control requirements specification, knowledge of control topologies / techniques, control system simulation using tools such as Matlab/ Simulink or SABER, algorithm evaluation from an FPGA implementation and control performance viewpoint, understanding of implementation of data paths, DSP and VLSI maths functions in FPGA designs.<br />
3. An appropriate track record of design in FPGA design (e.g. a number of designs including a variety of applications and a variety of functional types) and in control systems design.<br />
4. A good level of expertise in general electronics and digital design commensurate with the position of a senior specialist design engineer.<br />
5. A proactive style, team spirit, high energy level, and positive outlook.<br />
6. Commitment to deliver with diligence appropriate to high product safety / integrity needs.<br />
7. Good written and verbal communication skills.<br />
8. Good problem-solving skills and initiative.<br />
9. Good coordination and mentoring skills.</p>
<p>Desirable Attributes:</p>
<p>1. Application of the FPGA and /or control systems design skills as defined in essential requirements in the areas of electrical motor control.<br />

Our client is looking for a candidate capable of developing into a Project Manager.</p>
<p>As the Programme Scheduler you will perform a key role in a large programme which involves new product introduction and the setting up of a new facility in the low cost environment. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and updating all the different project plans in Primavera. Earned value reporting is key to ensure that everybody is on track and within budget.</p>
<p>Responsibilities of a Programme Scheduler / Planner include:<br />
*Develop and maintain all project plans in Primavera<br />
*Send out specific weekly task sheets to the team to ensure everybody is aware of their tasks<br />
*Ensure all interdependencies are included in the plans<br />
*Monthly reporting of Earned Value<br />
*Maintain the Primavera system in line with the Corporate Standards<br />
*Develop the Primavera functionality to support Programme Processes<br />
*Put resource budgets against all activities<br />
*Plan all test facility capacity in Primavera<br />
*Take TeamCenter data (hours and % completion data) and manually input into Primavera<br />
*Set up all reporting templates<br />
*Train all users for data input and report generation<br />
*Write a user manual for A350XWB Primavera activities</p>
<p>The ideal candidate:<br />
*Proven experience of working in a programme-based environment, working with Primavera (Expertise with Primavera P6)<br />
*Proven experience of working with different functions to produce interlinked plans<br />
*Proven experience of producing progress reporting<br />
*Ability to work with different types of people &amp; functions to achieve the goal<br />
*Self-motivated and high initiative<br />

<p>As Quality Director for this leading global aerospace company you will lead and direct the quality function within the Motor Drives Systems ValueStream leading improvement in  New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and managing the Quality Management System to ensure the highest quality products reaches  customers.</p>
<p>The MDS ValueStream is evolving, working with innovative technologies and designing new products through production and into service. The Quality Director will play a pivotal role in leading initiatives to develop, implement and improve the QMS throughout the ValueStream.</p>
<p>Travel to other ECEPS and GAS Facilities in the UK and US will be required from time to time, as well as other ad hoc travel to support business needs.</p>
<p>Principal Accountabilities:<br />
&#8220; Develop and execute the Quality Strategy for the Motor Drives Systems ValueStream<br />
&#8220; Champion a Perfect Quality culture and make decisions that always protect the safety of products and services<br />
&#8220; Drives the development of robust processes used by the business to control all aspects of quality within an NPI environment<br />
&#8220; Champions continuous improvement activities to remove waste and variance<br />

<p>As the Senior Process Engineer you will be working with selected vendors on the development, planning, implementation and validation of robust manufacturing processes, systems and the equipment required for production of aircraft interior structures.  You will work with selected strategic partners and suppliers to develop, define and deliver manufacturing and business processes.  You will also be supporting the Production and Certification with the build of pre-production and development test structures</p>
<p>The Key Responsibilities of the Senior Process Engineer include:<br />
**Ensure processes are developed to produce product that meets internal and external customer requirements.<br />
**Ensure all new processes meet volume, quality, cost and delivery targets.<br />

<p>This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist Engineer to join this leading global aerospace company that design systems for aircraft of the future, providing actuator drive and power control electronics that help customers surpass the performance standards of the best aircraft flying today.   As a result of more new design wins our client is seeking to further expand its electronics hardware design team.<br />
We are seeking experienced engineers to execute detailed design of high performance analogue and digital hardware, typically working in teams of two to five hardware engineers within a total team of up to 50 engineers.  The teams are responsible for carrying out all the tasks required to deliver a system or subsystem on time and to the required quality standards.  Engineers will bring good knowledge of modern SMT electronic components, an understanding of when custom components can be incorporated with advantage, and the ability to deploy appropriate software analysis tools as required Our teams also need to bring to bear sound EMC design skills and a good appreciation of the factors that need to be managed to deliver the size, weight and reliability goals our customers set.  Engineers will deliver the documentation for professional or military systems that give customers and airworthiness authorities  appropriate assurance that the design has been professionally executed and proven.<br />
We expect our engineers to deploy tenacity, perseverance and sound problem solving abilities, together with a willingness to learn and use new techniques.<br />
The senior engineering people assist project managers with estimating work and ensure they follow through on programmes and ensure timely completion.<br />
You should be prepared to share your expertise and help les experienced staff develop their skills.<br />

Basic Qualifications: Candidates will bring o Strong Hardware Electronic Engineering skills o A degree level or HND qualification in Engineering or equivalent experience o A proactive style, team spirit, high energy level, and positive outlook.<br />
o Demonstrable Time Management skills<br />
o Ability to multi task and cope with a degree of pressure in a professional product development environment One or more of the following will also be valued:- o Work experience in a similar or related industry o Knowledge of or experience with one or more of software tools: PSPICE (circuit simulation), Saber (circuit simulation), Mathcad, Simulink, Matlab.<br />
o An understanding of electrical generator and brushless DC motor drive operation.<br />
o Understanding of design for EMC.<br />
o Knowledge of DO254 or related standards.</p>
